Echoe Launches Browser-Based Lossless Audio File Sharing Platform

Berlin-built tool by engineer Patrik Skoog aims to streamline file delivery, feedback, and versioning without compression or login barriers.

A new platform designed for musicians and producers has launched, offering lossless streaming and integrated feedback tools directly in the browser. Echoe, developed by Berlin-based mixing and mastering engineer Patrik Skoog, targets producers, engineers, and labels seeking an alternative to general-purpose file sharing services – such as Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer.

The service enables users to stream WAV and AIFF files without compression, share non-expiring links, and collect timestamped feedback tied to specific points in a track. According to the company, the platform is intended to consolidate tasks that are typically spread across multiple services, such as cloud storage, file transfer tools, and messaging apps.

Frustrations with current services

Echoe enters a space where widely used platforms were not originally designed for audio production workflows. File storage services often lack playback context, such as waveforms or track sequencing, while transfer tools impose expiry limits on links. Public streaming platforms typically re-encode uploaded files, making them unsuitable for critical listening during mixing and mastering stages.

The fragmentation of communication is another issue the platform attempts to resolve. Feedback on tracks is frequently distributed across email threads, messaging platforms, and voice notes, detached from the audio itself. Echoe’s approach places comments directly on the waveform, allowing collaborators to reference precise moments in a track and maintain threaded discussions in context.

Features and workflow integration

Echoe streams audio files at full resolution in a web browser, avoiding downloads or dedicated applications. Recipients can access shared material without creating an account, a feature aimed at simplifying client interactions, approvals or collaboration.

The platform includes playlist organisation, file versioning, and password-protected sharing. Users can export comment histories as PDFs, providing a documented record of feedback and revisions. While the core functionality is available on a free tier, paid plans introduce additional features such as file conversion and expanded storage capacity. Pricing is structured around storage and bandwidth, starting at €10 per month for higher usage tiers.
