discoDSP updates OB-Xd and Discovery Pro synths, Bliss Sampler and FX Bundle

discoDSP has announced free updates across their product line, featuring host-wide plugin delay compensation, higher-quality linear-phase offline rendering, a new Custom unison mode, and reverb and delay refinements.

Discovery Pro 8.24

Discovery Pro is a virtual analog synthesizer and sampler with 4 layers, 12 oscillators, SFZ/WAV/SoundFont support, PADSynth re-synthesis, and Nord Lead 2 SysEx import/export.

Version 8.24 adds a Custom unison mode with a hands-on detune and pan editor, restores the four Layer outputs to the AU, VST3 and VST plugin formats, and reports oversampling latency to the host for sample-accurate delay compensation.

What’s New

  • Custom Unison Mode: A new unison type with an in-editor overlay where you drag up to four voice dots across a detune x pan plane, setting per-voice pitch spread and continuous stereo placement by hand. Settings are stored per bank and mirrored globally. Open it from Poly ▸ Unison Detune ▸ Custom…
  • Multi-core Classic Wavetable Generation: The first-run Classic oscillator cache is now built on a background thread across every CPU core, so plugin load and the interface never block. Output is bit-identical to before.
  • Higher-Quality Offline Bounces: The bounce oversampler now uses linear-phase FIR equiripple filtering for cleaner offline renders, while realtime playback keeps its low-latency polyphase IIR path.
  • Plugin Delay Compensation: Oversampling latency is now reported to the host, so oversampled playback and bounces stay in sample-accurate sync with the rest of your project.
  • Bug Fixes: Restored the four Layer A/B/C/D outputs to the AU, VST3 and VST formats, fixed a bounce oversampling sample-rate miscomputation, a MIDI Out feedback loop, and a Windows-only hang on plugin unload.

OB-Xd 3.23

OB-Xd is a classic virtual analog synthesizer that recreates the Oberheim OB-X with enhancements like micro random detuning, unison, and bi-directional MIDI control.

Version 3.23 refinements fix a Pro Tools load crash, let unregistered AAX and LV2 play in real time, and stop a macOS MIDI Out feedback loop.

What’s New

  • Unregistered AAX/LV2 Playback: These formats now play in real time when unregistered; only bouncing and offline rendering remain disabled until you register.
  • Pro Tools Load Crash: Fixed a crash when loading OB-Xd (AAX) on an unregistered install.
  • MIDI Out Feedback Loop (macOS): Notes and controller changes sent to the virtual MIDI port no longer echo back and multiply, most commonly seen with the Audio Unit in Logic Pro and GarageBand.

Bliss 3.17

Bliss is a professional sampler with VST/AU instrument recording capabilities, Visual Key Mapper, built-in wave editor, and comprehensive format support including AKAI S1000/S3000/S5000/S6000, NKI, EXS, SFZ, and SoundFont2.

Version 3.17 reports plugin delay compensation for effects oversampling and brings reverb, delay and chorus refinements.

What’s New

  • Plugin Delay Compensation: Effects oversampling latency is now reported to the host using a linear-phase FIR when bouncing.
  • Reverb Improvements: Reverb parameters now show in real units instead of percentages and process at the base sample rate for lower CPU use, producing identical results without oversampling.
  • Interface Polish: Reworked pitch and mod wheel shading for a rounder 3D look, with consistent button label fonts and dropdown arrow spacing.
  • Bug Fixes: Fixed synced delay presets being four times too short, chorus rate and feedback errors, reverb predelay unit and stereo desync, delay cross mode feedback, send effects not flushing on preset load, and loop/cue points not updating when replacing a zone’s sample.

FX Bundle 3.10

discoDSP FX Bundle is a collection of mastering and mixing effects including ThrillMe, NightShine, Schroeder, Finalizer, Distortion and EQ10.

Version 3.10 adds bundle-wide host delay compensation, linear-phase oversampling for cleaner renders, and an EQ10 filter-frequency fix.

What’s New

  • Bundle-wide Delay Compensation: Every oversampled plugin now reports its processing latency to the host, so tracks stay sample-aligned against parallel busses, dry/wet returns and other tracks. Added to ThrillMe 3.12, NightShine 2.6, Schroeder 2.2, Distortion 1.3 and EQ10 1.1.
  • Linear-Phase Oversampling: Nonlinear processors now use a linear-phase FIR anti-aliasing filter for cleaner offline exports. ThrillMe, Finalizer and Distortion switch to the FIR only when bouncing, keeping the low-latency IIR for real-time tracking, while NightShine runs the high-quality FIR at all times.
  • EQ10 Filter Frequency Accuracy: Corrected a sample-rate scaling error so every band, high-pass and low-pass now lands at exactly the frequency you set.
  • Platforms & Formats: EQ10 now ships as an AAX plugin for Pro Tools alongside its existing VST, VST3, AU and standalone builds.
