Carve Audio has announced the release of two new audio plugins, Busboy and Slapshot. Both plugins are designed to help engineers and musicians achieve polished, professional results faster by reducing complex signal chains and unnecessary decision-making. Here’s what they say:
Busboy – Broad, Musical Mix Bus Tone
Busboy is a mix bus and subgroup plugin designed to add polish, cohesion, and control with minimal effort. At its core are broad, musical shelving filters inspired by a highly sought-after mastering EQ valued at over $10,000, making it easy to shape tone in a natural, unobtrusive way.
Alongside the tonal shaping, Busboy features a compression section designed to deliver the classic bus compression sound that glues a mix together. The compression helps add punch, control dynamics, and create a sense of cohesion without drawing attention to itself.
To complete the signal chain, Busboy also includes a limiter section designed for clean, controlled level management. It can be used subtly to catch peaks and maintain consistency, or pushed further when additional level is needed, all while preserving punch and clarity.

Slapshot
Slapshot is designed to solve a common mixing problem: adding width and depth without losing clarity.
Most people reach for reverb or delay to create space, but both come with tradeoffs. Reverbs often push sounds back in the mix and add muddiness. Delays can preserve clarity, but usually require additional EQ, compression, de-essing, and level control to keep them from becoming distracting or messy.
Slapshot takes a different approach. It’s built around a slap-style delay that adds size and dimension while keeping sounds upfront. All of the processing that delay normally needs to sit properly in a mix is handled automatically behind the scenes.
