Carbonated Audio has released On Tap, a sidechain ducking plugin that delivers instant pump and groove effects without any compressor routing.
On Tap ships with 16 hand-crafted ducking curves and 3 trigger modes — Sync (locked to your DAW tempo), MIDI (trigger from any MIDI source), and Audio (react to incoming signal). A band-split crossover filter (20Hz–5.12kHz) lets you duck only the frequencies you want, keeping lows anchored while the mids and highs breathe.
Key features include:
- 16 ducking curve shapes with draggable end marker for precise length control.
- 3 trigger modes: Sync, MIDI, Audio.
- Band-split crossover filter (20Hz–5.12kHz).
- Mix knob for parallel ducking.
- Anti-click smoothing.
- Resizable window.
- Zero latency, low CPU.
- VST3, AU, AAX on macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel).
On Tap is the third plugin from Carbonated Audio, joining Carbonator (multi-mode filter) and De-Sipper (de-esser). All three are available individually or as a bundle.
