Audiomodern is best known for rhythmic effects like Playbeat or Riffer – the groove generator. This time they surprise us with a free release! Filterstep is a resonant multi-mode filter effect paired with a modulation sequencer for Windows, Mac and also for iOS. You can create rhythmic filter grooves with up to 32 steps. The sequencer syncs to the host tempo and offers various play modes. As usual with these plug-ins from Audiomodern, the cube creates a random pattern that is regenerated with the infinity symbol which creates a new pattern on every repeat.
The integrated random generator is also very nice. With this, the parameters for crazy effects can be mixed up nicely. In addition, the sequencer has different ways of playing (for example, forward, backward or ping pong). But you can also adjust the filter according to your wishes. All parameters can be controlled remotely via MIDI-CC. You can even load the individual presets directly using a quick selection. This is very interesting for live performances. Filterstep can be a great tool to bring some creativity into your new musical productions.
Audiomodern Filterstep is available free of charge directly at ProducerSpot (Audiomodern official partner & reseller). The plug-in runs on Mac OSX 10.12 or higher and Windows 7 or higher as VST, VST3, AAX, and AU audio plugin in 32 or 64 bit. You can also get the iOS app for free in the Apple App Store. The app requires iOS 9.3 or higher and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It occupies 10.8 MB on your iDevice.
