Artists in DSP has released a major free beta update for Amorph, the text-to-DSP plugin, which now generates custom graphical interfaces alongside fully functional DSP code.
The professional audio production market is flooded with static sample libraries and text-to-audio tools that only spit out rendered files. Amorph is different: it creates live, editable plugins; complete with working DSP and a custom UI you design yourself.
What’s New in This Update:
- Custom User Interfaces: Officially Supported.
- The biggest new feature: you can now build, tweak, and design your own custom user interfaces. Create exactly the look and controls you want for every patch you generate:
- Amorph MIDI: New Plugin Variant (Community Requested).
- Based on massive community demand, we are introducing a brand-new plugin variant: Amorph MIDI.
- It takes MIDI in and spits MIDI out. You are no longer limited to audio effects and synths: you can now prompt and generate custom arpeggiators, sequencers, and complex MIDI logic tools from plain text:
- The Hub: Cloud Preset Sharing.
- Directly inside Amorph you can now browse and download presets from the cloud: no more manual installs for every patch. In the future, everyone will be able to share their own patches through The Hub.
No Coding Required (Unless You Want To)
The most important feature of Amorph is still freedom. You do not need to know how to code to use it:
- For Musicians: Just type what you hear in your head (e.g., “A vintage tape delay with random pitch wobble”). The AI writes the DSP code instantly.
- For Sound Designers: Let the AI generate the base structure, then tweak the code or the brand-new custom UI to make it as you wish.
- For Developers: Full access to the engine to write instruments from scratch – now with complete UI customization.
How It Works
Amorph is a “Text-to-DSP” engine powered by the Cmajor language:
- Prompt: Describe the sound in plain English (or any language).
- Generate: The AI writes the DSP code in real-time.
- Play: The code compiles instantly inside your DAW.
- Customize: Design a custom UI with the controls and layout you actually want.
This is still very much a beta – but thanks to brutal testing and direct feedback from the Discord community (now almost 1,000 members strong), this update is a massive leap forward. Bugs fixed, requested features added, and the core experience finally feels right.
