Antelope Audio has announced V-AMP, a high-fidelity preamp and cabinet emulation plugin designed for use in digital audio workstations.
V-AMP models a common-cathode tube stage and provides a controlled range of gain behavior, from light saturation to overdrive and bass boost, with an emphasis on accuracy and signal integrity.
The plugin includes a cabinet convolution engine based on circular convolution, featuring five cabinet models measured with multiple microphone configurations.
V-AMP also offers a selection of virtual microphone models, including dynamic and condenser types, with mono and stereo options.
The signal path incorporates precision filtering, oversampling, non-linear processing, and anti-aliasing stages. A dedicated DC-removal filter is included to maintain clarity at higher gain levels.
Control parameters include Drive, Crunch, a three-band tone stack, Presence, Bass Boost, Master Volume, and independent input and output gain stages. These controls allow users to manage gain structure, frequency balance, and output level within a single plugin environment.
