The Bob Moog Foundation has announced From the Source: Live Conversations with Iconic Music Innovators, an interactive livestream series connecting attendees with instrument designers and audio engineers. Organized as part of the Foundation’s 20th anniversary, the series is structured around audience questions submitted both prior to and during each session.
The inaugural event features synthesizer engineer and E-mu Systems co-founder Dave Rossum, moderated by instrument designer Marcus Ryle. The private Zoom session will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EDT and is limited to 100 participants.
Rossum’s work in electronic music hardware spans more than 50 years. At E-mu Systems, his developments included the Emulator, Drumulator, SP-12, and SP-1200, as well as digital scanning keyboard technology that Sequential Circuits licensed for the Prophet-5. Rossum will be joined by Ryle, whose career includes engineering roles at Oberheim, co-founding Fast Forward Designs and Line 6, and contributing to the design of the Oberheim OB-X8.
Marcus Ryle commented on the upcoming event:
