Acon Digital has released Acoustica 8, an update to its audio editing, restoration, and mastering suite built around new machine learning models for its DeNoise and DeHum processors. The update removes a step that has defined the workflow in prior versions: DeNoise 3 and DeHum 3 no longer require users to capture a noise profile before processing, a change Acon says produces cleaner results on dialogue, ambience, and music while running faster than the previous algorithms. DeClip 3 and DeClick 3 carry over with refreshed interfaces.
The spectral editor picks up several precision-focused additions. Stereo View renders stereo placement directly on the spectrogram in color, letting engineers spot balance issues visually rather than relying on listening alone. A new “select similar” function locates spectral regions that share characteristics with an existing selection, useful for tracking down repeated noise across a file. Time and frequency feathering are now adjustable, smoothing the transition around spectral edits, and AudioFill has a rebuilt interpolation and retouch algorithm capable of filling larger time regions with generated content for repairs.
Dialogue work gets a dedicated update in Extract:Dialogue 2, which splits out separate sliders and sensitivity controls for voice, noise, and reverb. That separation gives editors more granular control when isolating dialogue from source recordings with multiple overlapping issues, rather than working from a single combined threshold.
Acoustica 8’s interface has been rebuilt around a new launch page, a dockable Processing Tools pane, and a fully customizable toolbar, bringing the application’s session-start workflow closer to what users expect from a modern DAW. Every edition now includes full ARA2 integration, giving users the complete Acoustica clip editor inside any ARA2-compatible host without file transfers; a separate Link plug-in handles AAX transfer for Pro Tools users. The Ultimate edition extends immersive audio support to 16 channels, covering formats up to 9.1.6 including Dolby Atmos.
Acon Digital continues to sell Acoustica as a perpetual license rather than a subscription across all three editions, positioning it against subscription-based restoration and mastering tools in the same category. “Acoustica 8 is a result of listening closely to our customers and the wider audio community to fully understand the technical challenges they face every day,” said Joel Heatley, CEO of Acon Digital.

Available now in three perpetual-license editions: Standard ($149), Premium ($299), and Ultimate ($449). New licenses and upgrades are discounted 25% through October 6, 2026. Owners of Acoustica 7 qualify for upgrade pricing, and anyone who purchased Acoustica 7 after August 1, 2026 receives a free upgrade to the equivalent Acoustica 8 edition, applied automatically to their Acon Digital account.
