ONRI Audio has released REISEI, a mastering processor for macOS that keeps spectrum analysis, EQ, dynamics, saturation, stereo imaging and limiting in a single view.
REISEI’s EQ includes a PARTIAL mode built on additive resynthesis. Rather than applying a filter across a frequency band, it locks onto individual harmonics present in the source and follows them as pitch moves. A tracked partial can be lifted, reduced, or inverted so that it cancels in anti-phase. The process is strictly linear, adding no distortion by design.
The analyser doubles as the control surface: every band, grip and node is manipulated directly on the spectrum, and with a module’s SOLO engaged, touching an element brings that part under the ear. What SOLO isolates is chosen to suit each module.
A UNITY control compensates output to input level so that bypass comparisons are level-matched, and the signal chain — compressor, saturator, EQ and dynamic EQ — can be reordered freely.
REISEI does not switch into a mid/side mode. The signal remains L/R throughout, and a per-band WEIGHT control blends mid or side elements into each move by degree, leaving the stereo image anchored where it was mixed.
Metering follows ITU-R BS.1770-4, with integrated, short-term and momentary loudness, LRA, true peak and PLR, plus streaming targets with an APPLY TARGET utility that sets a rough static gain toward the chosen level — a starting point meant to be finished on the meters, not an automatic matcher.
REISEI was designed and built by an industrial and UI designer who also mixes and masters.
Price: $399 as a one-time purchase, including three activations and free updates within the version line. A fully unrestricted 14-day trial is available. Intel Macs are not supported. A Windows version is planned.
