Remi Blaze has released Hazex, a free algorithmic stereo reverb for macOS (AU / VST3, Apple Silicon native).
Hazex is part of a growing collection of free tools built by a house and tech-house producer and DJ with a catalogue of 170+ original tracks across 35+ labels.
Reverb is easy to add and easy to overdo. Pile it on and the mix turns to mush, the source drifts back behind the wash, and the low end smears once it hits a club system. Hazex is built to sit in a busy mix without any of that. An 8-line feedback delay network builds the space, from a tight room to a long ambient tail, and dynamic Ducking pulls the reverb back under the dry signal so it stays out of the way, then lets it bloom into the gaps when the source drops. A Sub-Anchor crossover keeps the low end mono, so the tail never phase-cancels on a big rig.
From there it goes as deep as you want. Size and Decay set the space, from 0.1 to 10 seconds, with damping, pre-delay (free or tempo-synced), a dark-to-bright tone tilt, and stereo decorrelation to shape it. The creative side adds saturation inside the feedback loop, an input-linked high-pass sweep, Shimmer pitch feedback, a reverse Bloom, a tempo-synced Swell build, and Freeze for an infinite hold. A Nebula visualizer and a phase-guard LED show what the tail is doing.
