RAWL Releases Phoalis – Loudness Curve Matching Engine Plugin (VST3 & AU)

RAWL has released Phoalis, a new mastering and balance correction plugin for macOS and Windows.

Phoalis analyzes source material and calculates the gap between its tonal profile and an ISO 226-based ideal equal-loudness curve, allowing users to bridge that gap both by ear and by eye. In addition to curve matching, the plugin features MAGIC FLOW — RAWL’s proprietary processing independent of the ISO 226 curve — to further balance dynamics and space for a richer, more cohesive result. Up to four curves (PROFILE, IDEAL, AFTER, MAGIC) are displayed simultaneously on the real-time analyzer, ensuring precise visual feedback for every tonal decision.

Key Specifications:

  • ISO 226 Equal-Loudness Curve Matching: Analyzes audio and calculates the tonal gap against ideal equal-loudness curves.
  • MAGIC FLOW Processing: Proprietary algorithm for dynamic and spatial enhancement, operating independently of ISO 226 curves.
  • 4-Curve Real-Time Analyzer: Displays PROFILE, IDEAL, AFTER, and MAGIC curves for clear visual navigation.
  • Integrated True-Peak Limiter: 4x oversampled true-peak output limiting to prevent inter-sample clipping.
  • Integrated Gain Match: Compensates output level for processing boost to enable unbiased listening decisions.

Pricing and Availability

Phoalis is available now for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats. A special launch price of $129 (Reg. $229 / Save 44%) is available until August 18, 2026 (JST) by using the coupon code PLSLAUNCH129 at checkout via Gumroad.
