13x Audio has released version 1.4 of Aurora, its free 24-band dynamic EQ for mixing and mastering.
This release is built almost entirely on user feedback from the plugin’s initial launch. It fixes a bug that prevented the macOS build from loading in Logic Pro and other hosts on macOS 13 and 14, restoring compatibility with macOS 11 and later. Smart Ops audio capture has been reworked so that analysis is driven by the audio actually received rather than elapsed time, which fixes cases where the Learn stage would never complete. The release also brings a refined workspace, editor stability improvements on Linux, and matching builds across all three platforms.
Aurora offers up to 24 parametric EQ bands with per-band dynamics, a live spectrum analyzer with direct curve editing, and stereo, mid/side and left/right band placement. The built-in Smart Ops help match a reference spectrum, tame resonances, de-ess and unmask competing tracks, and their results remain fully editable EQ bands.
