Universal Audio has released Capitol Studios, a native room modeling and reverb plug-in for macOS and Windows that models Capitol Studios A and B, along with microphones, consoles, outboard processors and four underground echo chambers.
The plug-in features dynamic room modeling, allowing users to move virtual microphones around the studios and hear the room response change in real time. Microphone setups curated by Capitol engineer Steve Genewick include vintage microphones and Decca Tree configurations for strings, horns and vocal ensembles.
Additional features include modeled British large-format consoles and Capitol’s in-house analog equipment, plus presets from past and present Capitol engineers, producers and musicians.
