Heavyocity has released Psychosis, a Kontakt library for horror and thriller scoring. It includes 720 organic sound sources and 332 presets across two instruments, Psychosis Designer and Psychosis Menu.
Recorded at Heavyocity’s studios, the source material includes koto, sarangi, rubab, music boxes, toy pianos, thunder sheets, gongs, and resonating metals. Unconventional performances, including scraping, over-bowing, stretching, and bending, form the basis of its processed textures, rhythms, and sudden accents.
Psychosis Designer layers three channels with per-channel envelope, tone, drive, motion, and space controls. A macro control and sequencer provide multi-parameter modulation, while the mixer includes recordable automation. Psychosis Menu maps individual sounds across 72 keys, with options to assemble custom palettes or spread a single source across the keyboard.
