Techivation has released T-De-Breather, a zero-latency breath suppression plug-in for macOS and Windows designed for vocals and dialogue. T-De-Breather automates breath level adjustment while offering detailed control over its detection algorithm, helping users identify and suppress unwanted breaths.
T-De-Breather’s hybrid audio engine combines advanced algorithmic audio analysis with real-time predictive forecasting using a Recurrent Neural Network, allowing the plug-in to operate with zero latency for live performance, recording and post-production workflows. Breaths are identified according to their unique spectral and time-domain characteristics, making the detection process completely level-independent. As a result, T-De-Breather can detect and suppress breaths regardless of how loud or quiet they are.
Because the distinction between breath and sibilance can be subtle, T-De-Breather detects both and allows users to fine-tune the balance between them. Dedicated controls make it possible to suppress breaths while simultaneously reducing unwanted sibilance, helping produce cleaner and more consistent vocal recordings.
