MixWave, in collaboration with Hazelrigg Industries, has announced the release of Hazelrigg VNE, a new dynamics plugin that models the Hazelrigg Industries VNE compressor.
The VNE compressor, originally evolved from the D.W. Fearn VT-7, features a unique Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) gain reduction circuit. MixWave states they have used their proprietary component-level modeling process to capture the VNE’s sonic characteristics, while adding modern features for digital workflows.
Key Features:
- Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Gain Reduction: This circuit, originally found in the D.W. Fearn VT-7, is designed to deliver transparent and musical compression.
- Dynamic Control: The plugin aims to provide precise dynamic control, preserving the original signal’s tone, character, and transient details.
- True Tube Tone: The plugin models the VNE’s Class-A triode design and transformer-coupled I/O to reproduce the warmth and depth associated with tube gear.
- Modern Workflow Enhancements:
- Dry/Wet mix for parallel compression.
- Input/output filters for pre- or post-compression signal shaping.
- Support for both mono and stereo sources.
Pricing and Availability:
Hazelrigg VNE is available now from Mixwave for an intro price of $99 (Reg. $149).
