Universal Audio’s Volt 876 Rackmount USB Interface with 8 Vintage Preamps and 1176 Compressors is now available

Universal Audio has announced availability of the Volt 876 USB Recording Studio, a new rackmount USB audio interface aimed at music producers and bands who need to record multiple sources simultaneously. This unit packs a considerable amount of connectivity and analog-style processing into a single rack space.

The Volt 876 is a 24-in/28-out interface that connects via USB and is compatible with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone. It features next-generation 32-bit/192 kHz audio conversion for high-fidelity recording. A major feature of the interface is the inclusion of eight of UA’s Vintage mic preamps on board, along with a classic 1176-style compressor on every channel, allowing users to add analog character to signals on the way in.

The system is built for tight hardware-software integration, shipping with UA’s LUNA Digital Audio Workstation and the UAD Producer Suite plug-in bundle. This software package gives users tools like session recall from the hardware, AI-powered features in LUNA, and a collection of classic processing plug-ins.

Volt 876 is all about giving musicians and producers a classic UA analog studio sound, with more power to create together. Beyond its fast, push-button tone shaping, it offers a level of digital integration with UAD plug-ins and LUNA that we believe is the fastest path to creating great-sounding music.
