Minimal Audio releases Poly Flanger (VST3, AU & AAX)

Minimal Audio has released Poly Flanger, a new plugin that aims to bring musical intelligence to flanging. Instead of generic sweeps, it creates arpeggiated patterns and stacked chords that build on your track’s harmony. Set a scale and the effect snaps to the closest in-key note—moving with your music, not against it.

  • Scale-Aware Pitch Snapping: Set a root note and scale, and the Poly Flanger automatically snaps to in-key notes—turning generic sweeps into harmonic patterns that move with your music, or deactivate the scale altogether for classic flanger effects with plenty of twists.
  • Multi-Voice Harmony: Stack up to 8 independent flanger voices that can automatically snap to musical intervals, producing effects from rich unison to panned chords spanning multiple octaves.
  • Chord Voicing Filters: Fine-tune the harmonic voicing with 12 voicing modes that further refine what scale degrees each voice can play, including triads, 7ths, sus chords, power chords, pentatonic scales, and more.
  • Beat-Synced Transitions: Lock pitch changes to timeline grid divisions to keep everything in sync with your track using the tempo-synced Note Rate control.
  • Three Flanger Styles: Switch between Classic (full harmonics), Hollow (odd harmonics with saturation), and Vapor (diffused, reverb-like smearing) for distinct tonal flavors.
  • Stereo LFO Modulation: Build movement with a morphing LFO featuring independent stereo phase, randomization, and shape controls that go beyond what a traditional flanger can do.
