Cotorro Audio has announced the release of P1E Resonance Unit (P1E-RU), a free multiband harmonic exciter plugin.
P1E-RU uses three independent saturation engines to add harmonics and density to specific frequency ranges. The plugin allows for robust tonal shaping while maintaining phase-perfect alignment thanks to its Linkwitz-Riley crossover architecture.
P1E-RU features fixed 2x oversampling for a smooth high end. An output control affords you between -12 dB and 12 dB of gain. All three bands can be individually mixed in for a ton of tonal flexibility.
Frequency bands:
- Low: 20 Hz to 350 Hz.
- Mid: 350 Hz to 2.5 kHz.
- High: 2.5 kHz to 22 kHz.
Saturation models:
- Analog. Classic tape harmonics. Works swimmingly for the master bus.
- Vintage. Tube-like plentiful even harmonics. Makes your vocal tracks shine with detail.
- Digital. An aggressive model with harsher transients. Designed with EDM in mind. Adds punch to stale acoustic kick drums as well.
Use cases:
- Master bus glue (in subtle amounts).
- Electric guitar, bass, and acoustic drum enhancement.
- EDM beat intensification.
- Vocal thickening. Bring voices closer instantly with a mere touch of mid-range harmonic boosting.
The plugin has been verified by Pluginval at strictness level 10.
The P1E Resonance Unit is available as a free download for Windows VST3 and LV2 here.
