AAS updates Multiphonics CV-3 to v3.1 and releases FM Core sound pack for CV-3 and AAS Player

Applied Acoustics Systems has announced the release of version 3.1 of its Multiphonics CV-3 modular synthesizer for macOS and Windows along with the FM Core sound pack for the Multiphonics CV-3 and AAS Player plug-ins in collaboration with AAS resident sound designer Adam Pietruszko.

This new version, a thematic update dedicated to FM synthesis, brings four new modules to the Multiphonics library:

  1. The FM Core Operator module, a building block used in the creation of complex digital FM patches;
  2. The REZ oscillator, an original digital waveform generator;
  3. A new envelope generator module;
  4. A comprehensive spectrum analyzer for signal visualization.

This so-called FM+ update is free of charge for registered Multiphonics CV-3 users and is available directly from the AAS user portal.

FM Core Sound Pack

Drawing inspiration from synthwave, VHS soundtracks, and iconic ’80s pop, FM Core is the latest creation from AAS resident sound designer Adam Pietruszko. This Multiphonics sound collection features 100 unique patches, blending classic DX-style electric pianos, basses, bells, and plucks with modern leads, lush pads, percussion, 8-bit game effects, and experimental atonal textures. FM Core also offers patches for building a vintage drum machine with a retro vibe, ideal for lo-fi tracks.

Pushing traditional digital FM synthesis further, FM Core combines linear and exponential modulation with advanced routing, waveshaping, and physical-modeling resonators to deliver both timeless and forward-thinking FM timbres.
