YFX Japanese Grand

Inspired by Japanese piano craftsmanship, the Modartt team invested extensive research and development into creating the YFX physical model. It is the latest evolution of Modartt’s expertise in piano physical modelling, including its most advanced soundboard model introduced with Pianoteq 9.

Modartt says:

The result is a Grand Piano with a distinctive character: precise, balanced and remarkably expressive. Its clarity and responsiveness encourage musicians to play boldly, explore new ideas and discover fresh musical possibilities.

Whether played live or recorded in the studio, the YFX Japanese Grand feels immediately at home in all musical styles. Its clear, beautifully singing voice retains excellent definition and consistency across the entire keyboard. Its powerful, well-defined bass provides depth and authority while remaining clear and controlled, even in the most demanding passages.

A carefully designed collection of presets covers a wide range of musical situations, from intimate solo playing to stage and studio production, with versions tailored for both monitor and headphone listening.

The YFX combines a rich, inspiring voice with an exceptionally responsive touch that invites to compose, explore and keep on playing.

Pricing & Availability

The YFX Japanese Grand can be purchased for €49 / $49 and is accessible in the latest update 9.3 of Pianoteq for evaluation.
