UJAM and Virharmonic have announced a binding agreement for UJAM Music Technology GmbH to purchase the assets of Czech instrument developer Virharmonic s.r.o..
The move builds on a partnership spanning more than seven years, with Virharmonic using UJAM’s Gorilla Engine to develop its expressive instrument plugins.
Over the years of our close relationship, I have seen how UJAM operates. I’ve grown deep trust in their values-based approach, respect for artists, and fiercely independent stance. UJAM has everything that Virharmonic needs to get to the next level — especially the market reach, resources, culture and professional network.
Virharmonic founder Ondrej Švec
Virharmonic founder Ondrej Švec will retain creative direction of the brand and product line, with new instruments already in development. The companies say the move will give Virharmonic access to additional resources, market reach and a wider professional network.
What Ondrej’s team has built goes deeper than most people realize. The way they’ve made instruments genuinely playable, with real expressive control, is some of the most sophisticated Gorilla Engine-based instrument mechanics we’ve seen. That’s exactly the kind of engineering prowess that we hope will make the UJAM ecosystem even stronger.
Axel Hensen, CEO at UJAM
Ondrej and team are true artisans, they make instruments with real character that resonate with people on an emotional level — that’s rare and precious. Our job now is to give them more room to do more of just that.
UJAM founder Peter Gorges
Existing customers will retain access to their products through the Virharmonic website and continue to receive full product support.
