AudioBrain has released ChimeBrain, a physically modeled wind-chime instrument for macOS.
Rather than playing back prerecorded note samples, the instrument calculates the vibrations of suspended metal bars in real time.
ChimeBrain is intended for wind-chime parts in music production, film and theater scoring, and sound design. It models wind chimes only; tubular bells, cymbals and drums are not included.
Features:
- Up to 36 individually configurable metal bars, with adjustable dimensions, material and pitch register.
- MIDI performance, sweep and SHAKE gestures, and direct interaction with the on-screen bars.
- Five virtual microphone models with adjustable position, angle and stereo spacing.
- Optional room acoustics with adjustable dimensions and surface materials.
Version 1.0.2 starts new instruments with ROOM disabled to reduce CPU use while retaining the optional modeled acoustic environment. Previously saved projects retain their ROOM settings.
Pricing & Availability
ChimeBrain is available for the introductory price of $9.50 until October 27, 2026, 23:59 JST (Reg. $19) through the discounted purchase page.
