TerminalVST has released Terminal 2.0, a major update to its distortion engine. It’s free for existing users.
Terminal 2.0 adds a modulation section with two LFOs. Click a knob or slider to assign it, then set the amount, positive or negative, with a small bar that appears beside the control. Either LFO can switch to AUDIO ENV mode and become an envelope follower with its own attack and release, so the distortion responds to the dynamics of the incoming signal.
The interface has been redesigned from the ground up around a large oscilloscope. Drag it to set the drive, and shape the peak EQ directly on its draggable curve.
What’s new in Terminal 2.0:
- Two LFOs, synced or free-running, assignable to almost every control.
- AUDIO ENV mode: either LFO becomes an envelope follower with attack and release.
- All-new interface around a live oscilloscope: drag it to drive, and edit the peak EQ curve directly.
- Six distortion circuits: Tanh, Germanium, Asymmetric, Wavefold, Red LED and Blue LED.
- New factory presets.
- Clearer controls throughout, with on-screen tips.
Pricing and availability: Terminal is available for macOS (VST3/AU, Universal) and Windows (VST3) for €39.99. The update is free for existing users. A fully functional demo is available from www.terminalvst.com
