SnowTec has released Probe, a free plug-in analyzer for macOS and Windows.
Load any plug-in into Probe and see what it actually does to your sound. Probe measures frequency response and phase, harmonics and aliasing separately (Hammerstein kernels), intermodulation (IMD), dynamics (compression and saturation), impulse response, an oscilloscope and CPU load, plus seven correctness checks. Two 6-slot chains with an A−B null test and live updates make it easy to compare before/after, catch aliasing up top and check whether that “analog warmth” is real.
Probe is free. It is available as an application and a plug-in: VST3 and AU for macOS, VST3 for Windows.
