Iced Audio has released AudioCortex 2 Nova 2.5 Beta 9 for macOS, a free update for everyone on the public beta.
The Library’s preview strip now shows six scopes, one at a time: Waveform, Spectrogram, Chroma, Loudness, Stereo, and Balance against a reference track. Pick one from the pop-up on its bar; a playhead follows the sound as it plays, and the choice is kept.
Also new since the listing went up:
- Nodes, the app’s patching canvas, has thirty-six new cards: the modules a modular rack has that the canvas didn’t. A multimode filter, a resonator bank, a wavefolder, ring mod, a frequency shifter, a vocoder, spectral freeze, Euclidean and Turing sequencing, a four-input mixer, and more.
- Nodes note streams: Sequencer and Follow Pitch cards write notes; Euclid and Turing send MIDI; the Synth, Multisample and Sampler cards play it.
- The Resonator rings at its key: a true band Q, on the scale you choose.
- The Synthesizer Sampler walks a whole synth, every patch in turn into its own folder.
- The Library searches everywhere: start a search with * to cover every analysed sound on the Mac.
- Song Map moves into the Oscilla pane; rendering a changed score replaces its lanes instead of stacking new ones.
- Fixes from the testers.
AudioCortex 2 Nova is $99 during the public beta ($149 at 1.0), with a free seven-day trial. AudioFinder buyers from 2020 on get it free. Buy once, no subscription.
