Bonboa has released version 2.0 of Bacara Plugin, a generative MIDI sequencer for VST3, AU and CLAP on macOS and Windows.
Next to the melodic sequencer it now has a chord sequencer and a rhythm sequencer of up to 21 polyphonic voices, each with a generator and a length of its own, all three playing at once on one clock:
- Every sequencer has two generators:
- A model trained on twenty styles, from Bach cello suites to acid.
- A style system of 46 written styles with 66 flavours that writes fresh material on every roll.
- Deviation lanes keep each part moving from bar to bar.
- Patterns live in eight banks of sixteen, selectable from the DAW.
- Everything that sounds drags into the DAW as MIDI clips.
The engine can be tried in a browser first, with no download and no signup, at bonboa.com/live-demo. It runs the same C++ compiled to WebAssembly and makes the same patterns as the plugin.
