KERN audio has released updates for all six of its plugins that add AAX support for Pro Tools on macOS and Windows:
- Smooth 1.5.0 (resonance suppressor).
- Warm 1.6.0 (saturation).
- Wide 1.4.0 (stereo widener).
- Push 1.2.0 (compressor).
- Open 1.1.0 (algorithmic reverb).
- Check 1.3.0 (free mono compatibility analyzer).
The updates also add fine control with Shift and the mouse wheel on every knob, a clearer Depth readout in Smooth when Intense is on, a Depth lock in Open for switching presets on a return bus, and easier-to-read frequency labels.
AAX sits alongside the existing VST3, AU and standalone versions. The licence is unchanged. Existing owners get the update free by downloading again from their order. Plugins are $29 each, the five paid plugins also come as a bundle, and Check is free.
The story behind the release: “I bought an iLok so you never need one”.
