NEXTALE Audio has released GranularBreaker, a virtual instrument that plays a granular synthesizer with a brick-breaker game: balls bounce through a grid of bricks you design, and every collision fires a spatialized grain from your own sample. The result is emergent rhythm, evolving texture and phrases you would never program by hand.
Import your own samples or start from the factory presets, draw your playfield on the grid, and have fun — keep it musical with Quantize, Scale and Mode, or unleash the chaos.
Features:
- Drag & drop your own samples, or use the factory presets.
- Full physics engine with different brick and zone types for different effects (Gravity, Repulsion, Unbreakable, No-Spawn zones).
- Game modes for every mood: breaker, sample-accurate step sequencer, marble drop and evolving break patterns.
- MIDI output: every collision becomes a note — control your other synths with GranularBreaker as the brain.
- Quantize everything (synced to your DAW’s grid), or don’t — and pick a Scale and Mode to fit your mood.
- Import your own Impulse Responses to create crazy reverbs.
- Full FX chain: LP/HP filters, spatial audio, bitcrusher, saturation and a tempo-synced delay.
- 3 LFOs, assignable to (almost) every knob.
- And more to discover on your own — everything is in the manual.
