RJ Labs has released Forbidden, a free VST3 and AU DI enhancer and boost-style plugin aimed at guitarists who want more weight and clarity ahead of amp sims.
Instead of a simple makeup boost, forbidden runs a processing chain built as a DI enhancer. Three main buttons apply different tonal profiles, with a link control for an all-buttons-in setting. A Tame control softens those profiles when they are too aggressive. GATE+ is a gate stage with more control than the gate in the company’s PRISM plugin, intended for tighter noise control on guitar signals.
