ABYZOR has updated ABYZOR Genesis to version 2.1, a major update to their free MIDI generator for Windows and macOS.
Genesis V2.1 introduces a new BLOCKS workflow for creating structured musical phrases using a call-and-response approach, along with a new REFINE function for turning existing patterns into more developed musical ideas.
Genesis V2.1 – Structured Idea Generation
- BLOCKS Mode: split a loop into two musical sections, A and B, creating a call-and-response structure.
- Block-Based Harmony: each block can use a different harmonic direction, with Block A building tension and Block B resolving toward the tonic.
- Regenerate A or B: select a block and regenerate only that section while keeping the other side intact.
- REFINE: turn an existing pattern into a more musical call-and-response structure with a single click.
- Adaptive REFINE: generate an ABAC-style structure while preserving the original musical idea.
- Grid-Aware Generation: generated patterns are now aligned to a consistent 0.25-beat grid with a minimum note duration.
- BLOCKS Toolbar: dedicated controls for enabling BLOCKS, selecting A/B and regenerating the selected section.
- Visual A|B Split: the piano roll clearly displays the two musical sections when BLOCKS is enabled.
- Reliable Partial Regeneration: regenerating one block preserves the other section and applies processing only to the selected block.
- Real-Time Preview Updates: regenerated patterns and preview sounds update immediately during playback.
