rncbc.org updates Qtractor to v1.6.3 and Vee One Suite to v1.4.3 for Linux

rncbc.org has announced the (northern) Late-Summer’26 release of Qtractor version 1.6.3, and the Vee One Suite version 1.4.3 of old-school software instruments, for GNU/Linux.

Changes for this Qtractor release:

  • Fix incorrect audio clip offset after tempo change and Automatic time-stretching is in effect.
  • VST3 Plug-ins: make sure initialization and setup are done in correct order; add IDataExchangeHandler and refactor IRunLoop interfaces as singleton instances; connect processor/controller via ConnectionProxy wrappers.
  • Updated to VST3 SDK v3.8.1.build.84.
  • Possible fix to incorrect audio clips offsets when undo/redoing tempo changes.
  • Plugin latency/delay compensation is now opted in to audio buses (cf. View/Buses… /Input, Output Plugins/Latency compensation).
  • Plugins are now added/inserted *after* the current selected one and appended to the list if none is actually selected as before.
  • Fixed an ugly old bug manifesting in MIDI instrument plug-in’s dedicated audio outputs distorted sound (probably since v0.9.30).
  • Updated to CLAP v1.2.10.
  • Fixed audio clip waveform display sudden cutoff, under certain circumstances, while recording is engaged.
  • LV2 plug-in Patch parameters/properties of the Path type, may now filter on given supported file-types.
  • Almost complete rewrite to LV2 Plug-in Worker/Schedule extension regarding multi-instance operation.
  • Mitigate an annoyance when drag-and-dropping items across plugin list-views/boxes that are shorter enough in height to overlap the default auto-scrolling margins or are showing less than a couple of items.

The Vee One Suite is comprised of four separate, autonomous software instruments, which are:

  • Synthv1 – a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer.
  • Samplv1 – a polyphonic sampler synthesizer.
  • Drumkv1 – a drum-kit sampler synthesizer.
  • Padthv1 – a polyphonic additive synthesizer.

All still delivered in dual form:

  • A pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non/New Session Management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support;
  • A LV2 instrument plugin.

Changes for the Vee One Suite in this release:

  • Fixed an old freezer bug that manifested whenever a MIDI Program Change is issued.
  • Vastly improved Bank/Preset management widgets.
  • Fixed a terribly old multiple LV2 plug-in instance mess up. (padthv1 only).
  • Fixed wrong (Scala) key-map file setter on the Tuning loader.
  • Added file-types property to LV2 plug-in Path parameters.
  • Opening/loading sample file of an empty element revisited (last fix on LV2 Plug-in GUI broke the whole JACK stand-alone element navigation, now fixed). (drumkv1 only).
