NOMZ Studios Brings StemMaster to macOS – Now at v1.1.46

Nomz Studios has brought StemMaster to macOS, extending the stem-based mixing and mastering application beyond Windows to Apple Silicon. The Mac build shipped on August 30 at version 1.1.46. Rather than mastering from a stereo bounce, StemMaster works directly from a multitrack’s individual stems. One license key covers both platforms and activates up to three machines in any combination, so existing owners already have Mac access. The Mac build requires macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer); Intel Macs and older macOS releases are not supported. It is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Two updates preceded the port. Version 1.1.45 added 24-bit AIFF as a master export option, alongside 24-bit WAV, FLAC, MP3, and dithered 16-bit WAV, added for Mac-side software and habits that expect that wrapper. Version 1.1.44 added a Stop button beside the render progress bar, so a master started with the wrong target no longer has to finish rendering before it can be cancelled.

The default engine mixes and masters entirely offline, with no account, connection, or upload involved. An optional second engine takes a user-supplied API key and works from measurements rather than raw audio; one supported provider runs its model locally, so the measurements never leave the machine either. Both engines log their decisions in plain English: what was done, to which stem, and which measurement justified it.

Nomz Studios has also published a free null-test pack (a mix, its stems, and the finished master in 24-bit FLAC) so users can verify the process themselves. Importing the stems at unity and inverting against the original mix drops the residual to -142 dB, according to the company.
