SoundRave has released ATROPA, a free virtual analog synthesizer for macOS and Windows.
ATROPA is based on a subtractive synthesis workflow and combines two main oscillators with a sub oscillator, noise generator, dual filters, modulation tools and an integrated effects section.
The oscillator section includes MultiSaw, pulse width control, oscillator sync, FM and AM. Two filter stages provide 64 filter types and can be configured in serial or parallel routing.
Modulation is handled by envelopes, LFOs, a step modulator, six macro controls, an XY controller and a modulation matrix. ATROPA also includes WAV-based sample and wavetable support.
The effects section includes several types of delay, distortion, reverb, chorus, flanger and phaser, along with EQ, compression, limiting, ring modulation, frequency shifting, granular processing, cabinet processing, lo-fi processing and additional effects.
Other features include a preset browser with factory and user preset support, A/B comparison, oscillator and modulation visualizers, and flexible effect routing.
ATROPA is available as a free download from SoundRave. Optional additional effects and related paid content are available separately.
More information and downloads are available from the SoundRave website.
