Raccoon Audio has released RoboComp, a compressor plugin that is designed to combine straightforward dynamics control with creative stereo processing.
Use it to tighten drums, shape guitars, control vocals, glue buses together, or make effects and reverb tails move in ways a traditional compressor can’t.
RoboComp is built for anyone who wants compression to be fast, musical, and creative. It can control dynamics transparently, add punch and movement, or completely reshape the stereo character of a sound. Because at Raccoon Audio, mixing should be fun.
Flexible Compression Controls
- Threshold sets how much of the signal is pulled into compression.
- Ratio moves from gentle control through to aggressive dynamics shaping.
- Attack controls how much of the original transient gets through.
- Release determines how quickly the compressor lets go and can be pushed into long, exaggerated movement.
- Makeup Gain lets you bring the compressed signal back to the level you need.
M/S Focus Stereo Compression
- Shift RoboComp’s detector and compression focus between the Mid and Side information of your mix.
- Focus toward Mid to control the centre while preserving stereo information.
- Focus toward Side to compress stereo information independently and create evolving width effects.
- Use long release settings to create dramatic stereo blooms, allowing sounds such as reverb tails to gradually open from mono into stereo.
Corrective or Creative
- Tighten inconsistent dynamics without overcomplicating the signal chain.
- Add punch and sustain to drums, guitars, bass, synths, and vocals.
- Push extreme settings for pumping, movement, stereo effects, and sound design.
- Mix gives you quick access to parallel compression without needing an additional bus.
Pricing & Availability
RoboComp is available for macOS and Windows in AAX, VST3 and AU plugin formats for $49 until August 31, 2026.
