Matari Audio has updated BUFFR to v0.7.32, the free public beta of its retrospective multichannel audio and MIDI recorder for DAWs.
BUFFR keeps up to two hours of recent audio, System Audio, and MIDI history ready to recover, shape, and drag back into a project — so an idea that was never armed can still become part of the session.
The latest update stream focuses on making that workflow faster and more dependable. Prepared analysis now powers responsive offline FX previews and consistent playback, drag-out, and export on long recordings, while the updated Ride workflow makes level matching easier to understand and control.
What’s new in BUFFR 0.7.32
- Instant Center Align and Ride previews: background analysis is reused while controls move, so long captures reshape continuously instead of restarting a full render.
- More useful Ride control: Threshold and Peak/RMS settings now drive the visible waveform preview, protect quiet material from unwanted upward gain, and transition more smoothly into and out of active passages.
- Clearer wet waveform feedback: processed audio stays visible through preview, release, pan, and zoom, with the actual wet signal kept authoritative and dry/processed differences shown without replacing it.
- Faster cached FX: completed Center Align and Ride analysis is reused for preview, playback, drag-out, and export; ready ranges appear progressively while long recordings continue processing.
- Spectral Grab and drag-out improvements: audio and spectral selections can be dragged back into a DAW with live render progress and 24-bit FLAC as the default audio export.
- More resilient sessions: BUFFR now retains bounded crash evidence and can make a redacted support report available after an unexpected session close.
