Audiocube has announced the release of Space, a new 3D audio spatialization and sound design plugin designed to bring immersive acoustic modeling and 3D positioning directly into standard DAW workflows.
Rebuilt from the core engine of Audiocube’s standalone 3D production environment, Space provides real-time sound placement, acoustic room simulation, spatial modulation, and creative sound design within a single channel insert.
Key Features & Capabilities
- Interactive 3D Positioning: Place sound sources and listening positions anywhere across a 360-degree spatial environment using an interactive 3D viewport, transform gizmos, or a top-down Radar Joystick.
- Physical Acoustic Simulation: Models distance attenuation, air absorption, Doppler effects, directivity cones, and acoustic occlusion in real time.
- Hybrid Reverb Engine: Features a parametric algorithmic reverb with 10 room shapes and 12 surface materials (such as concrete, wood, and glass), alongside an Impulse Response (IR) convolution engine with decay time-stretching.
- Harmonic Cloud Granulator: A generative spatial granulator capable of scattering up to 50 pitch-shifted audio delay grains per instance. Includes musical scale and chord pitch-quantization across 14 scales for pitch-matched ambient textures.
- Automated Motion Engine: Includes 10 pre-built motion presets (Circle, Figure-8, Lissajous, Spiral, Helix) synchronized to project BPM, plus custom motion path recording.
- Multi-Instance Linking: Syncs listening positions and acoustic models across multiple plugin instances in a project, enabling control of multiple track positions from a single UI window.
- Flexible Channel Routing: Supports outputs ranging from Stereo and Binaural HRTF (for headphone monitoring) up to 9.1.6 surround arrays and custom speaker configurations.
System Requirements & Availability
Audiocube Space is available now directly from the developer for $50 USD:
- Formats: VST3, AU, and AAX (64-bit).
- Platforms: macOS 11 or higher (Intel & Apple Silicon native) and Windows 10/11.
- System Requirements: Minimum 4 GB RAM, 150 MB disk space. Compatible with major DAWs including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Reaper, and Cubase.
