Dystopian Waves Releases Noesis – Intelligent Chord Generator (Windows VST3)

Dystopian Waves has released the Windows VST3 version of Noesis, an intelligent chord progression generator for songwriters, producers, and composers.

Noesis combines music theory, generative algorithms, and genre-based composition engines to generate chord progressions, explore harmonic variations, and refine musical ideas. Users can create progressions from scratch, import existing progressions, or transform them using a range of harmony tools.

The plugin features two generation systems: Theory Engine, based on functional harmony, and Flavor Engine, which includes 27 genre-based composition styles such as Neo-Soul, Cinematic, Lofi, Dark Trap, and Synthwave.

New in the plugin version are a Mutation Engine for creating harmonic variations from existing progressions, an 8-slot Snapshot System for comparing and exporting multiple ideas, manual passing chord insertion, an integrated keyboard editor for editing chord voicings, creating custom chord formats, and saving them for later use, a Tension Curve editor for shaping harmonic movement, built-in audition sounds, preset management, and a fully resizable interface.

Additional features include:

  • Five harmony generation modes: Diatonic, Chromatic, Advanced, Flavor, and Axis.
  • Twelve intelligent suggestion modes for substitutions, modulations, voicings, extensions, and harmonic variations.
  • 100 chord formats and 20 scales.
  • Automatic and manual passing chord generation.
  • Progressions from 4 to 16 chords.
  • Circle of Fifths integration.
  • Chord styles with timing and velocity humanization.
  • MIDI import and export.
  • MIDI controller playback.
