Yamaha Creator Pass Adds Cubase, Ableton, And New $9.99 Starter Plan

The update follows a public beta launched at SXSW and adds access to Cubase 15 AI, Ableton Live 12 Lite and a $9.99 monthly Starter plan.

Yamaha Music Innovations has updated Yamaha Creator Pass, its subscription platform for music creators, with expanded DAW access, educational tutorials and a lower-cost entry tier aimed at beginners.

The platform brings together music creation, mastering, distribution and promotion tools from more than 20 partner companies through a single login and subscription. Following a public beta introduced at SXSW in March, the company worked with artists to refine the service around practical production and release workflows.

Yamaha Creator Pass is now available in three music-focused tiers: Starter, Growth and Pro.

  • The new Starter plan costs $9.99 per month and is aimed at first-time creators who want access to songwriting, beat-building and idea-generation tools without needing prior experience with DAWs, routing or audio engineering.
  • The Growth plan costs $19.99 per month and is designed for users with some production experience. It includes sample access from Output Arcade and LANDR, a DAW bundle, plug-ins, arrangement tools, AI-assisted mastering from LANDR, more than 200 online courses and four Groover credits for pitching music to curators, playlists, media and labels.
  • The Pro plan costs $39.99 per month and includes the Growth features, along with additional Output tools such as Co-Producer, Portal, Thermal, Movement, and FX expansions. Pro subscribers also receive 10 Groover credits.

As part of the update, Growth and Pro subscribers can access Cubase 15 AI on monthly and annual plans. Annual subscribers also receive access to Ableton Live 12 Lite. Both applications can be downloaded at no extra cost for eligible users who do not already have a DAW. Yamaha says the platform is also designed to work alongside existing DAWs.

The platform now includes a Learning section with video tutorials intended to help users navigate Creator Pass and develop production skills. Yamaha has also added discounts and incentives from partners including Avid, FL Studio, UVI Prisma, un:hurd, RoEx, Linktree, SoundCloud, Steinberg, Adobe, DistroKid and others.

Upon sign-up, Pass holders can receive special discounts and incentives from benefit partners

Subscribers can also purchase selected add-on features from AudioShake, Yamaha Vocaloid, TONE3000 and Mogul. A separate Podcaster Pass, priced at $29 per month, includes Riverside Pro and tools for recording, editing, publishing, clip creation, live recording and simulcast.

Creator Pass reflects a wider trend in music technology towards bundled services that reduce account management and bring more of the release process into one environment. The approach may be useful for beginners seeking a guided path into production, as well as independent artists looking to connect their creation tools with distribution and promotion services.

Yamaha is also running a time-limited promotion for the first 100 eligible US subscribers who purchase an annual Pro Pass by July 10. Those subscribers will receive a free Yamaha AG01 USB microphone, while supplies last.
