sonicLAB updates Fundamental to v4.1 adding MCP support

sonicLAB has updated Fundamental to version 4.1 adding MCP (Model Context Protocol) support.

Fundamental 4.1 now exposes its sound engine through the Model Context Protocol, so any MCP-compatible LLM client can drive synthesis directly.

Features:

  • Describe sweeps, modulation, sonic progressions, or physics-inspired processes in plain English — the LLM generates the preset and Fundamental4.1 loads it instantly.
  • Works with Claude Desktop and Gemini CLI.
  • By using your existing subscription on Claude or Gemini, the MCP server does not cost extra fees beyond your existing LLM plan.
  • It provides persistent memory such as the conversations stay in context; so you can iterate: shift a chord up 50 Hz, add Cauchy modulation, sweep it down to sub-bass — each instruction builds on the last.

Fundamental 4.1 is a free update for Fundamental 4 users.

sonicLAB Fundamental 4.1 comes as a standalone app, and in VST3 and AU plugin formats for OS X (universal) and Windows.

A new license of Fundamental 4.1 costs £99 GBP and can be purchased on sonicLAB webshop.
