Toontrack Releases Classic Rock EBX Expansion for EZbass

Toontrack has announced the release of the Classic Rock EBX, a sound library and MIDI expansion pack for their EZbass virtual instrument. Designed to provide the foundational low-end tones characteristic of the classic rock era, the expansion is centered around a meticulously sampled classic 1960s bass guitar.

The library features both fingerstyle and pick performance articulations. For added tonal versatility, the pick options were captured in two distinct striking positions along the strings: neck and bridge. The instrument covers an extended pitch range from A0 to E4 and features a dedicated “Clean DI” (direct input) preset option across all tools and striking positions, enabling custom external amplification and processing.

Key Features

  • 1960s Bass Sample Library: A deeply sampled classic 1960s electric bass guitar configured specifically for classic rock productions.

  • Dual Articulation Profiles: Captured using both finger and pick playing techniques.

  • Variable Pick Positions: Picked articulations sampled at both the neck and bridge positions for distinct tonal variations.

  • Signal Options: Includes a wide range of mix-ready presets alongside raw Direct Input (DI) options for all setups.

  • Custom MIDI Library: Features a dedicated collection of bass MIDI patterns and grooves inspired by classic rock tracks of the 1960s and 1970s.
