Noisebud releases Solid – Low-End Processing Plugin Designed for Mastering

Noisebud has announced the release of Solid, a low-end processing plugin designed primarily for mastering, focused on adding depth rather than simply increasing bass.

Solid generates a new fundamental one octave below the existing low-frequency content, creating what the developer describes as a more natural foundation beneath the mix. Instead of aiming for a heavier or more obvious low end, the plugin is designed to make mixes feel deeper, more grounded, and more complete.

According to Noisebud, the effect is often subtle. In many cases, the added low-frequency content is not perceived as additional bass, but rather as a shift in how the mix sits and breathes. Even very low-level additions can influence the sense of depth, warmth, and perceived space without affecting clarity or transient detail.

Solid was originally developed as a band inside another Noisebud plugin, Hmmm. As the concept evolved, it required more control than would fit within that framework, leading to its release as a standalone plugin.

The plugin includes multiple processing approaches, allowing it to derive its low-frequency foundation either from the full bass content or from the strongest peak, with options to focus on tonal or more transient material. This flexibility makes it suitable for both subtle mastering tasks and more creative low-end shaping.

Solid is available for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU formats (including Apple Silicon support).
