Immanent Audio has announced the release of Spectral Agent, an unmasking and dynamic/auto EQ plugin (VST3 Windows) that’s designed to bring out the most important tracks in your mix.
From a top-level, Spectral Agent:
- Compares frequency data between tracks.
- Determines frequency clashes.
- Dynamically implements notch filters to favor lead tracks.
Structurally, the plugin works as a full-mix unmasking manager by giving you the power to create an ecosystem of Master/Yielding interactions across all your tracks.
Put Spectral Agent instances (up to 64) on tracks/buses, and they automatically broadcast data to each other. This allows you to:
- View frequency clashes between tracks in the analyzer window.
- Set Master/Yielding behavior between tracks (no sidechaining involved).
- Fine-tune specific parameters for each per-pair interaction.
- View the post-processed frequency curve (green) in the analyzer window.
Even if a track is Yielding in one interaction, it can still be Master in another. This is where the “ecosystem” concept starts to come alive – with the layering of priority settings and complex hierarchy structure. Spectral Agent places notches using a weighted priority algorithm, ensuring a Yielding track is always carved out in the right spaces.
Whether you’re overhauling your mix for clarity on vocals and drums, or subtly edging guitars over pianos, Spectral Agent offers a scalable solution for prioritized unmasking.
