DAWJunkie has released LeadOff Jr, a free virtual instrument incorporating wavetable synthesis to get highly dialed-in lead sounds.
The synth’s primary engine utilizes eight selectable wavetables, while the secondary engine employs standard waveforms to add density and thickness to the signal. The architecture includes a Moog-style filter with a dedicated filter envelope for spectral control.
To manage transient response, LeadOff Jr includes three “Attack Buttons,” allowing users to layer strike samples into the sound for increased definition. The output stage features an effects section comprising phaser, pitch, distortion, delay, and reverb modules.
