Dreamtonics has announced the release of Choir Voice Collections, a new series of three vocal databases designed for Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro. Developed over two years, these collections utilize hybrid modeling technology to generate configurable choral ensembles ranging from soloists to full sections.
Hybrid Modeling and Ensemble Control
The Choir Voice Collections combine deep learning with signal processing to model full choir recordings. Unlike traditional sample libraries that stack static recordings, this engine dissects the source material into individual soloists and sections. This allows users to reconstruct the choir dynamically within the software.
The interface offers specific controls for shaping the ensemble:
- Ensemble Scaling: Users can adjust the number of singers from a single soloist up to a 16-member ensemble.
- Dispersion Control: Adjustable parameters for pitch and timing dispersion allow the user to shift the texture from tight (pop/modern) to loose (lush/natural).
- Articulation: Controls for consonant articulation, brightness, and legato transitions.
- Soloist Access: When reduced to a single voice, each collection provides access to 16 distinct solo vocalists (4 Sopranos, 4 Altos, 4 Tenors, 4 Basses).
The Collections
Dreamtonics has released three distinct volumes, each targeting specific musical genres and vocal timbres:
- Choir Voices – Collection 1: A set of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices designed for contemporary genres. It covers gospel, worship, urban contemporary, pop, R&B, soul, and electronic music.
- Choir Voices – Collection 2: Focused on classical and cinematic applications. It includes soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and baritone voices suitable for opera, oratorio, film scores, and symphonic works.
- Choir Voices – Collection 3: A collection emphasizing traditional and acoustic styles. These voices are tailored for folk, bluegrass, folk-rock, and singer-songwriter arrangements.
