FMJ-Software has updated Awave Studio, a multi-purpose instrument and audio editor and file format converter, to version 12.12.
New features:
- Added support for reading Fairlight CMI I/II/IIx voice files (.VC). Thus, conversion support now reaches from the present time all the way back to the first commercially available sampling synthesizer.
- The envelope velocity to time parameters have been changed from unitless multipliers to linear additive (values in seconds, with the velocity as a bipolar source – which corresponds better to e.g. .SFZ and .NKI).
- Added option: On Save: WAV files: Don’t save default loop if its type is ‘Off’ and there’s no alternate loop.
- Added option: On Load: EXS files: Apply loop crossfade times to waveform data (destructively).
- The options for Dialogic VOX and Sound Designer II data formats have moved to the normal Settings page, cf. On Load: VOX files, and On Load: SD2 files.
- When auditioning and playing with the Legato pedal down – if no Alt Start marker is present, the internal synth will now instead crossfade to the loop start (if any).
- Updated bundled codecs DLLs.
