James H Ball updates osci-render to v2.6 – 11 New Effects & Improved Interface

James H Ball has updated osci-render to v2.6.3.1 and sosci to v1.1.8.4.

Loads Of New Effects

There’s a total of eleven new effects in this version. Most of these are exclusive to osci-render premium, so if you haven’t upgraded yet, now is a great time to do so:

  • Spiral Bitcrush.
  • Polygonizer.
  • Vortex.
  • God Ray.
  • Skew.
  • Unfold.
  • Kaleidoscope.
  • Multiplex.
  • Bounce.
  • Twist.
  • Duplicator.

Massively Improved Interface

  • The interface is now a lot cleaner-looking, with the visualiser taking centre-stage (as it should.).
  • Effects are now much easier to preview and experiment with, just by hovering over the effect on the grid.
  • There’s also now a huge number of example files you can play around with when opening a file.

Lots of bug-fixes and improvements

  • Lua performance is roughly doubled.
  • New Lua variable cycle_count that counts the number of times the phase cycles at the current frequency.
  • Lua now supports external audio input
    • Ext_x and ext_y control the x and y inputs from your external audio input.
  • Overhauled the Dash, Bit Crush, Smoothing, and Trace effects.
  • The goniometer is now correctly oriented in sosci.
