Waves has released the new Flow Motion FM Synth plugin that combines FM synthesis with subtractive “analog” approaches, available in VST and AU for Windows and MAC. Add to that a 16-step / snapshot sequencer and an extensive library with over 1000 presets.
Flow Motion by Waves promises deep bass, screeching leads, plump pads and growling effects. The intuitive graphical user interface is designed to give the FM synthesis, considered quite complex, a playful and simple approach. “Flow Motion” combines the best elements of FM modulation (frequency modulation) and the subtractive synthesis of analog design in a powerful instrument.
The Flow screen facilitates entry into FM synthesis with a sophisticated, graphical FM modulation matrix that combines four powerful mono / polyphonic oscillators with independent waveform and pan controls. The assignments between the oscillators and the four independent LFO / Envelope modulators can be easily modified using drag-and-drop assignments.
The Motion screen, in turn, controls the Filter, Amplitude, EQ and FX in a “traditional” subtractive manner. The 16-Step / Snapshot Sequencer also allows you to capture and switch between different synth states in real time, similar to the Paramter Locks on Elektron. With 16 retrievable snapshots per patch, you can quickly and easily create complex sequences in no time at all. Add an additional arpeggiator and built-in effects.
Flow Motion is available via Waves website priced at a regular price of $99. Supported hosts: VST, VST3, Audio Units, AAX Native.
